Intro to Tapestry Weaving

Emily is back for a third year! This two-day workshop is a fantastic opportunity to learn the basics of tapestry weaving from Grand Marais artist, Emily Wick. Emily is a self-taught weaver whose work at North Woven Goods draws inspiration from the Boreal forests and wild North Shore of Lake Superior. Emily and Dorothy (Dappled Fern owner) will collaborate to create an inspiring and supportive space for you to try out a new craft and connect with other creative folks in the area!

Get ready to expand your knowledge of tapestry weaving with this advanced beginner weaving class. This class is geared toward those who have taken Intro to Tapestry Weaving with Emily Wick or who have weaving experience on their own and want to deepen their practice.Weavers who take this class must be comfortable with warping their loom, basic tabby weave, and simple color transitions.
Knit Camp 2024

Pack your favorite knitwear and head North... We are hosting our THIRD annual fall knitters retreat! Fall Knit Camp sold out in 10 MINUTES last year so I have a feeling 2024 will fill quickly too.
This intimate weekend is facilitated by Dappled Fern owner and holistic life coach, Dorothy Broomall. Dorothy will hold the same warm space you’ve come to know at our shop...it’s just you don’t have to go home at the end of the day.
