
Up your colorwork game while knitting the Fern Hat in a weekend intensive with Susan Johnson. Susan designed this pattern in honor of Dappled Fern, incorporating motifs symbolizing her favorite things about the the North Shore: water, ferns, night sky, and community.

Supplies to gather (not included):
-DK or light worsted yarn in 4 or 5 colors. The main color uses approximately 50 grams or 125 yards. The contrast colors use 16 grams (41 yards) or less. Susan used Farmer's Daughter Pishkun.
-Needles that give you a 6 stitch per inch gauge. Susan (a loose knitter) used a size 5 in a 16 inch circular needle for the body of the hat and 5 double points to finish the crown.
