Learn to knit while making a classic ribbed beanie with Grand Marais knitting instructor Annie Albertson!

When I moved to Grand Marais, it was thrilling to discover that almost EVERYONE knits! Even the guy who seated me and my husband at the Angry Trout knit while he ushered us to our table.  An invite to knit with Annie and some friends one evening made a big difference in my life here. I am thrilled to invite you to learn how to knit with Annie here at Dappled Fern.

In this 4-session class you will learn how to:

-Read a knitting pattern
-Wind yarn
-Cast on
-Knit stitch
-Purl stitch
-Decrease stitches
-Wash and block your finished hat!

In the first class, Annie will provide lots of content and instruction. During the following classes, she will support you as you work on your hat so you have an expert on hand to answer questions as they arise and learn to sort out snafus.

You'll leave this class familiar with basic knitting skills, terminology, tools, and supplies. You'll be plugged into the knitting community at Dappled Fern and have a new hobby to keep your fingers busy during our long boreal winter.

Class includes:

Lavender Lune DK yarn - hand dyed in MN ($27 value)
Needles ($21 value)
Electronic copy of pattern (free)
8 hours of instruction and support (priceless ;-) but valued at $10 per session). Please note that a 4th session will be determined by the group. Possibly Dec 21.

You are welcome to join any of Dappled Fern's free, drop-in knitting circles on Saturdays and Mondays 10am-12pm throughout the class and beyond. No instruction is provided in these groups but it's an empowering space to get to know other knitters and work on your project.
