Dappled Fern Fibers is a yarn shop in Grand Marais, MN.
We love being your yarn shop on the North Shore! At Dappled Fern, we empower creativity, weave community, and craft with the seasons while supplying high quality supplies and tools to fiber folks on the North Shore and beyond.
My friends and I dreamed up Dappled Fern back in May 2020 while knitting on a canoe trip in the Boundary Waters and reflecting on what our community longed for during the early stages of the pandemic. The dream continues to unfurl with a sweet shop down town, Beach Knitting in the summer, Book Club and Sweater Support Group in the winter, and Knit Camp retreats year round.

Learn to knit with Dappled Fern owner Dorothy Broomall in this 3-day class at North House Folk School during Fiber Week! You'll learn basic knitting skills and make a squishy cowl inspired by the beloved local landmark using hand-dyed yarn in our custom North House Folk School colorway!
