Tapestry Weaving: Coasters - November 2024
November 9-10, 2024
Saturday 1pm - 5pm and Sunday 9am - 1pm
10 spaces
Get ready to expand your knowledge of tapestry weaving with this advanced beginner weaving class. This class is geared toward those who have taken Intro to Tapestry Weaving with Emily Wick or who have weaving experience on their own and want to deepen their practice. Weavers who take this class must be comfortable with warping their loom, basic tabby weave, and simple color transitions.
In this two-day workshop, we will take your weaving experience to the next level with new skills such as color blending techniques, geometric shapes, and curved lines. We will practice these techniques on woven samples in the form of woven bookmarks or coasters (student’s choice). We will also discuss overall tapestry design, and work together to design your next tapestry using the new skills learned in class.
Each student will leave the class with a set of functional coasters or bookmarks showcasing their new skills, and empowered with a plan for their next tapestry weaving.
